Advising Programs:
- General Questions
- Study Abroad 101 Group Advising
Bio: From being born and raised in the Bay Area to getting to explore various parts of the world by studying abroad, Diana has transitioned from being a Student Assistant with SJSU's Study Abroad and Away office to now being part of the professional staff. She is wrapping up her B.A. in Anthropology with a minor in Art History, and hopes to continue her education by attending graduate school in Germany, where she first studied abroad. After participating in three different study abroad programs herself, and learning from her time as a Student Assistant with SAA, Diana developed a strong interest in international education and global relations. Her goal is to get her M.A. in international education and continue working in the field of studying abroad and away in order to spread the word about it to students from impacted groups. Diana studied abroad in Germany for a semester with CSU IP, and participated in SJSU Faculty-Led Programs to the Caribbean and Japan. She loves getting to explore cultures and parts of the world she has never been to before.
Fun facts: Mourning the fact that she is not a natural polyglot, Diana hopes to learn at least
three more languages someday. She currently knows Spanish and German. If she had unlimited
money, she would want to travel to every part of the world with her two cats trying
all the street food and visiting natural wonders.

Navigating different cultures has been a part of my life since before I could logically understand what “culture” meant. My mother is Colombian and my father from the United States, meaning bilingualism has been a norm not only in my home, but in any environment I found myself in. Growing up, I had the luck of living in both the U.S. and Colombia. By the time I arrived in San Jose, I knew my time to see the world was not over, but only just beginning. Read more
