Group Advising

In-person Group Advising will resume on October 19 for currently matriculated lower-division students with 0–59 completed units who are enrolled in the College of Health and Human Sciences.

Group Advising is designed to help students review their planned schedule, ask registration-related questions, and receive academic advising support before enrolling for Spring 2027.

Eligible students were sent an email to their SJSU email address with the subject line “Spring 2027 Enrollment Appointments Now Viewable – RSVP for Group Advising!” The email includes a link to select an advising session.

Sessions will be offered:

  • Days: Mondays and Thursdays, October 19 through November 19
  • Times: 9:00–11:00 a.m. and 1:30–3:30 p.m.
    • Some times may vary, please check your appointment time.
  • Location: MacQuarrie Hall 533

You must complete the following steps before attending a Group Advising session:

  • Bring your laptop.
  • Review the Roadmap for your intended major and catalog year.
  • Review MyProgress to identify the requirements you still need to complete.
  • Use both your Roadmap and MyProgress to create a proposed Spring 2027 schedule.
    • Prepare any registration-related questions you would like to discuss with an advisor.

Your proposed schedule must be ready to show an advisor when you arrive. All preparation steps must be completed before your session. If you arrive without a proposed schedule or have not followed the instructions carefully, you will be asked to reschedule your session.

Please arrive 5–10 minutes early. To ensure timely support for all students, morning advising ends promptly at 10:45 a.m., and afternoon advising ends promptly at 3:15 p.m.

If you did not receive the email or have questions about attending Group Advising, please contact the CHHS Student Success Center at chhssuccesscenter@sjsu.edu or (408) 924-2910.

Upper-division (60+ units) within CHHS students seeking major course advising must contact their major advisor or department directly.
