Director Goals

  • To build stronger relationships between cultural organizations and Associated Students.

  • Create events where all students feel seen and celebrated.

  • Advocate for underrepresented communities.

  • Increase student engagement with campus resources.

  • Leave a lasting impact by making space more inclusive, intentional, and student-centered.

     

Director Responsibilities

  • serve as the Chair of the Multicultural Advisory Committee and the Spartan Community Fund

  • serve as a member of the Campus Life Affairs Committee

  • report Academic Senate policies affecting ethnic/cultural, international, and non-traditional student groups at San José State University to the Board Directors

  • advocate for or ethnic/cultural, international, and non-traditional student groups, including but not limited to: individuals with disabilities, LGBTQIA+, re-entry, veteran, and graduate students

  • provide a liaison report on the activities of the Associate Vice President for Student Success and the Chief Diversity Officer
