CLFSA – The SJSU Legacy of Dr. Castro
Dr. George Castro, Professor Emeritus of San Jose State University College of Science
– Department of Chemistry. Dr. Castro was an officer in CLFSA for most of his tenure
at SJSU. He was an avid supporter of the Dr. Ernesto Galarza Scholarships and personally
supported a scholarship specifically for EVC and SJCC transfers.
Dr. Castro was a president of SACNAS, the Society for the advancement of Chicanos
and Native Americans in the Sciences, 1991-1994. (SACNAS Biography Project). CLFSA
proudly announces naming the community college transfer scholarship in honor of Dr.
Castro.
The CLFSA works to provide students with life-changing scholarships. But we can't
do it without your support. Consider donating today.
